I’m going to let you mamas in on a little secret. All the things that we build up in our heads as being bad, terrible, traumatizing, scary, horrific, and awful for our kids usually aren’t as bad as we make them out to be. This is a lesson I had to experience firsthand before I believed it.
Back to School
My 10th year as an elementary teacher is in full swing! My class and I just started our 2nd week and my whole family has been hit with nasty colds. I did not do well with my re-entry into “Germland,” no matter how many vitamins I took or glasses of orange juice I drank before the first day. In fact, both of my daughters are in bed early tonight with runny noses and slight fevers and I’m buried in snotty Kleenex tissues as I type. Sorry for the graphic details! This too shall pass. Despite all the germs, our transition into daycare has actually been amazing, which is exactly what this mama needed in the midst of the craziness of going back to work.
