I am obsessed with Aldi Grocery Store. If you’ve never been to one, and there’s one near you: PLEASE go check it out for the sake of your grocery budget! This place truly passes on amazing savings to its customers. Yes, you have to bring a quarter for the buggy (you get it back when you return the cart!) and yes, you have to bag your own groceries….but the incredible prices make it all worth it!
Check out these top 10 ultimate organic staples that taste delicious and are always in our kitchen.
I REALLY love buying organic food at Aldi because I can splurge on the best products made from the best ingredients at a much lower cost. My husband and I have always followed a monthly budget in the areas of groceries, shopping, eating out, and entertainment. We trim our expenses in other areas, such as not having cable, in order to have a healthy grocery budget. Now that we have kids, organic products with better ingredients are landing in our grocery cart a lot more often. It’s nice to know that better food can be within reach while sticking to a budget. Thank-you, Aldi!
Below I’ve listed my top 10 staples that I buy on a regular basis to keep my kitchen stocked. These items have passed my family’s taste-testing with flying colors and the prices cannot be beat.
Organic Vanilla Yogurt: $2.99
We love having this creamy treat ready in the fridge for smoothies, parfaits, or making frozen yogurt dots for our toddler twins! This is such a steal at 32oz for less than $3.00.
Organic Cage-Free Eggs: $3.99
Scrambled and hard-boiled eggs are a staple in our house. We cook a lot of eggs and this brand is by far the most inexpensive organic line you can find in any store.
Organic Salsa: $1.89
Salsa is just about as important as ketchup (which you can also buy organic for cheap at Aldi!) in our family. We put it on EVERYTHING. Less than $2.00 for organic!? Yes, please!
Organic Refried Black Beans: $0.99
Mexican dishes stay on repeat in our weekly menu line up. We are also big fans of beans, period. (Sorry, not sorry!) Aldi carries a wide assortment of beans, including organic refried varieties. It’s a great, simple side dish that’s packed with protein. These organic refried black beans are so tasty in any/all of our Mexican dishes.
Organic Macaroni and Cheese: $2.49
Guilt free mac & cheese? Sign.Me.Up, and STOCK UP! You will be amazed at the difference when you try this and then have Kraft’s brand. The amount of salt and artificial taste will knock your socks off once you’ve tried this organic version, and it’s cheaper than Kraft when it’s on sale!
Organic Frozen Blueberries: $2.99
My toddler girls eat these berries up like candy and we love adding them to smoothies. There’s always at least 3 bags in our freezer!
Organic Low Sodium Chicken Broth: $1.89
I love having a few boxes of broths ready for soups and adding flavor to pasta, rice, and crock pot/Instant Pot recipes. I know you can make this for pennies, and I wish I had the the time, but at less than $2.00, it’s a steal of a staple!
Organic Baby Food Pouches: $0.79
Ok, these are my favorite baby food items I love telling moms about. 79 CENTS!? ORGANIC? MULTI-INGREDIENT GOODNESS? Yes, please! My daughters are toddlers and still love gobbling these up at breakfast or for a healthy, on-the-go snack. The flavors are delicious, too!
Friendly Farms Organic Whole Milk: $2.95
With twin toddlers, we go through a lot of milk. I know almost $3.00 for half a gallon is pricey… but it’s a staple in our girls’ diet, so we want the best ingredients possible. Luckily, we save so much shopping at Aldi, that the organic “splurges” have become weekly staples within our budget. (And this milk is STILL cheaper than organic store brands elsewhere.)
100% Grass Fed Beef: $5.29
We love being able to purchase and fill our freezer with 100% grass fed organic beef at a seriously reasonable price. Knowing it’s made with such high standards makes our simple ground beef dishes tastier.
Have any items to add to this must-have Aldi organic list? Let us know below and we’ll be on the lookout the next time we’re cruising the aisles at our beloved grocery store!
